free market decide the price? I would like it if the Government subsidized all cigarettes so I could get em as cheap as possible. But that would be taking tax payers money to pay for it. Cigarettes are already taxed way too high. Its like $14 for one pack in NY! Thats crazy. Should the Government abolish all sin taxes and let the free market decide so everyone can have the freedom of choice what they want to put in their own body.

What happened to my body my choice? The Demmycrats want the choice for women to get abortion but not stuff I like such as cigarettes, alcohol, soda and junk food. What do you think about the Demmycrats taxing those things out of existance? When will the madness and government dicktatorship stop?
 
Cigarettes have a tremendous social cost, including pollution on roads, increased health care costs which are picked up by the government, lost productivity due to lung cancer, etc. These costs should be borne by those who purchase the cigarettes rather than taxpayers at large.
 
Govts at several levels makes $billions on cig taxes and are not about to give that up. That's why cigs are not banned.
