My parents used to have software that showed the position of the ISS and various satellites as they orbit the planet. I was wondering if anyone knows about the name of the software that does that, because my parents don't recall what it's called.

I believe that if there was such a program other than the CIA or NASA accessible we would have a multitude of wars over the skies then we do now, i dont think there is a program as such. national security would be gone if someone had the program... everyones defense would be gone.

Not sure if this is what your parents used but i used to use Starry Night software and i remember i could track ISS and other satellites in it.

I use to use a program called J-Track. It ran as an active desktop. It may still be available and I think you might find it on the nasa website. Google it.
