Split Routine Workout Question?

I have a question about split routine workouts since i've only done full body ones since I began to weightlift. Would this be an acceptable workout routine? I notice most split routines are group 1 one day then group 2 the other then rest and repeat, however I like getting three workouts in a week for my muscles and I want to start doing more exercises per muscle.
Example:
Monday: chest, triceps, shoulders
Tuesday: back, biceps, traps, abs
Wednesday: chest, triceps, shoulders
Thursday: back, biceps, traps, abs
Friday: chest, triceps, shoulders
Saturday: back, biceps, traps, abs
Sunday: rest
From what I've read some say you need rest to grow stronger, but if I alternate the muscles worked everyday all my muscles are getting at least a days rest. Is this acceptable? Thanks guys.
