Question,,, can I hook up surround sound speakers from a home theater until to a standalone blu ray pleayer (LG BD270) the tech specs state the following: Superior audio performance with 7.1 channels with Dolby Digital Plus & TrueHD & dts-HD . So would it have all the wholes in the back to be able to hook up the 5 speakers. The speakers are from a LG LHT854 DVD Home Theater System.

No. This is just a blu-ray player. It will need an amplifier or receiver. It cannot power speakers by itself.

The blu ray disc player does not have any power to drive any speakers by themselves. You need a receiver to connect the blu ray disc player using HDMI cable, your receiver has to be a 7.1 receiver. I have purchased over 100 blu ray disc movies and there are only a handful of 7.1 surround sound.
Some player have a 5.1 or 7.1 hook up in the back for analog connection (audi output), which you use rca jacks cable. Only coax or optical can have the 5.1 digital sound and HDMI cable with up to 7.1 digital surround sound. Hope this will help you out.
