Now that Windows 7 has been out for awhile and many have installed it either by upgrade or clean full installs, I have some questions below.
I had full running copies of Vista Ultimate and then swapped them out for the Windows 7 free upgrade offer. Now I have these full copies of Vista doing nothing.
1. If I need to later re-install Windows 7 will I need my former Vista install DVD? I'm curious what the Windows 7 install DVD might ask of me if I need to re-install it one day. I know some versions of the Windows 7 upgrade is keyed to certain manufactures and hardware sometimes. But I purchased my copies right off the store shelf.
2. If I did want to sell my full versions of Vista Ultimate, would they even work in another person's computer? Would Microsoft support those copies of Vista, or would they be invalid since I had them installed on another computer for a short time before and then wiped them off when I did the Win 7 upgrade?
Thank you.
