Taking girlfriend to meet my parents? (But parents speak a different language)?

Hi,

After finals I'll take my girlfriend home to meet my parents. I have met her parents already and things were well. However, my parents' first language is Cantonese (not like they don't know any English, just not fluent) and my girlfriend is Caucasian. I was kind of wondering if there are ways to avoid awkwardness when they meet? What else I can do to help other than letting her prior to that?

Most communication at such a meeting is not verbal anyway. A smile, a genuine interest in them, and an obvious interest in you will communicate more than words will. I sure she is up to the challenge just make sure she is not left to fend alone with a language barrier.
