It does seem to be a common problem with that handset, I have one and many people have asked about it on here. On mine all but two have split down the middle but so far none have actually fallen out so you should be OK. Depending on how old it is you may actually be able to get it repaired at no cost as this sort of thing shouldn't really happen. Certainly not within a year of purchase
