[SIZE=-1]Keeping a food log can help you lose weight. That?s according to a study of 1,685 overweight adults followed for six months by researchers at four U.S. health centers. Participants who kept detailed logs lost more weight, up to about 13 pounds among blacks and 20 pounds among whites. Successful losers also exercised more and attended more nutrition counseling sessions. To keep a log, record the foods and drinks you consume each day, the portion sizes, and the times and places you eat. Then look for patterns that lead to overeating.
