Transferring a video to computer from a DVD-RW disc, but no sound!?

I'm trying to transfer a short video from a DVD RW disc to my computer, but after copying and pasting the file from the dvd drive, it does not play with sound. the video is fine, but there is no sound when played after copying to the computer. Help please!
 
Your computer may not recognize the audio codecs. AC3 Filter is a very handy program (free):

u sure that ur pc's sound card is in good shape??

this is quite unusual...hey,but try taking an image of the dvd and play the movie by mounting it in a virtual drive and then c if the sound comes....
