I eat a lot of junk food.. And a lot of fast food. I want to start eating healthy... Can you help me and list some kinds of healthy foods? That aren't too high in carbs or fat?
Just list as many things as you can think.
(oh and if u say veggies and fruit, tell me specifically what kinds please)
Thanks!

all sorts of melons speed up your metabolism, such as honeydew melon, watermelon, cantalope (sp?), etc. Those help you burn up empty carbs so it doesn't turn to fat.

Avocados are very high in fat but they are very health.

tomatoes help prevent cancer and prevent obesity

corn and potatoes are bad.. and other starchy foods.

stay away from white bread, go for 7 or 9 grain or whole wheat.

Hey Taryn .... i can do that for you mate ........ green leafy vegies are the way to go if you want to lose weight and feel great ........ think vegies like broccolli, celery, kale, chard, buk choy ...... raw or lightly steamed as cooking devitalises them ....... sprinkle celtic sea salt over them for added flavor ... pure and mineral rich and very good for you...... not the table salt variety which has been chemically bleached and processed and had all the goodness and minerals pulverised from them............ the table salt variety is good for nothing and contains not one nutrient vitamin or mineral that your body will ever need........... drizzle a little cold pressed extra virgin olive oil over it for added flavor too ........ contains no trans fats (the bad fats) and rich in vitamin E and vitamin A.... wonderfull for healthy sleek skin hair and nails.

Green vegies like these are all rich in calcium and magnesium which work in tandem for healthy neural functioning, immune and digestive functioning........ so they will also increase the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy thus aiding in digestion and helping to resolve any constipation.

i just love the green vegies mate .... way easier to digset too ...... leafy and green vegies.

Ditch the milk and dairy products for a while and all the processed nutritionally void uselessmanmadesugar contained therein and supply your body with easy to digest calcium from the green vegies and raw nuts and seeds like organic almonds, sunflower seeds, brazil nuts....... Without sufficient calcium you will suffer insomnia, headaches and migraines, irritability and moodiness, terrible terrible mood swings and brain chatter and brain frizz, achy bones, digestive upsets such as bloating and cramping and constipation ......... calcium is essential for healthy bones, teeth and heart health and works in tandem with magnesium (known as the antistress mineral)...... lack of magnesium will give you migraines and headaches, nervous and twitching and muscular issues and will also cause lower back aches and bad digestion ....... and contribute to high blood pressure ..... increasing your daily intake of foods rich in both such as leafy and green vegies, brocolli, kale, spinach, fresh fish such as tuna and salmon and organic nuts and seeds such as almonds, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds will dramatically increase your feeling of well being and peace of mind.

Eat more brown rice too ...... try ditching the white bread ..... brown rice will give your brain the carbs it needs to run smoothly and your body the fuel it needs to move and get energised........ when you're low on carbs your brain has to work just that little bit harder thus contributing to depression and your energy levels will flag............ try brown rice or quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) which is a light crunchy South American grain.

Eat some low sugar fruits like watermelon, strawberries, pears or cantalope ......... take it easy on the high sugar fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, mangoes, grapes...... they have a high glycemic index and will make blood sugar levels rise and drop rapidly.... it's the low sugar, slow release foods that you need.

eat some lean red meat or fish or chicken also....... all you need is a piece the size of your palm daily.

snack on raw vegies like carrotts, celery, organic raw unsalted nuts and seeds (just 1 or 2 handfulls daily) .

drink loads of fresh filtered water daily ..... at least 8 glasses per day and ditch the sodas, pop and soft drinks if you drink any as they are all loaded with nutritionally void processed sugar and will dehydrate you terribly.

wean yourself slowly off the packaged and processed high sugar and high processed salt junky type foods or the detox will be too rapid and make you feel ghastly......... change one thing at a time luv and be nice to you.

peace baby

Meat-
Turkey and chicken are best because they are lean meats with large amounts of protein. Egg is good too in small amounts, but watch those triglycerides.

Carbs-
Whole grain: bread, pasta, rice, etc. Whole grains are good for your body. Plus they are high in fiber.

Fruits-
Blueberries, cherries, strawberries, watermellon, apples, bananas, kiwi, oranges, grapes, etc.

Veggies-
Potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, corn, squash, leafy greens for salads etc. The veggies are best if they are fresh and not canned, but what ever you want works. Frozen are also useful and easy to keep around. Use dark leafy greens. Eat colorful veggies.

Fats-
(Yup, you actually do need them)
Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats are best for you. Peanut butter has these.

Spices make a world of difference in bland foods. I really like salt-free seasoning any kind will work.
