UBUNTU newbie .. Black screen on startup...!!!?

I sont know anything about ubuntu/linux... I2ve just got into ubuntu.com on downloaded it.. I dont know ANYTHING..

I've chosed ubuntu over windows becouse i dont want to face with any problems but here we come at the first day :)

I'm using Dualboot.

Toshiba NB-200 Netbook / Samsung 19" Monitor and a wireless keyboard, mouse at home so the other day i did change screen settings.. Adjust resolution / closed the screen of netbook ..and shutdown..

today i opened computer, chosed ubuntu and black screen and a cursor appears.. thats all how can i solve this..

i have saw some solutions as couple of restarts will work but i dont want that kind of solution... why am i having this problem..

You broke it. Try using windows, it is by far the greatest and most stable operating system that is available. Microsoft does a great job and is always improving. OSX and all the linux distros cannot compare. (Please note that this was all EXTREME sarcasm)
