usb bluetooth dongle not working?

I'm using windows 8 64-bit. I've bought a bluetooth dongle which i've plugged in but it keeprs getting recognized as a mouse and a keyboard in device manager. I've tried uninstalling them but nothing seems to work. How do i fix this?
