VLC media player won't play my DVD, why?

I was having trouble with it, then I got it to play, but I don't even know what it was I did because I was trying to many things. Sadly, it was the wrong disc so when I put the one I wanted to watch in, it's doing the same thing as before.

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd://E:\'. Check the log for details.

vlc is usually the best at opening many different types of video files, formats than most others....try using windows media player, divx player, or WinDVD.......which is usually the default player on my pc to open actual DVD discs
