I am 29 weeks pregnant today and the midwife said that I was on course for having a good sized baby, 7 or 8 lbs. Was your midwife/Dr's prediction correct?

I cannot recall if my midwife's prediction was correct or not, I just know my own prediction was spot on!

No they predicted my baby's weight wrong twice.
At my 30 week scan they guessed her full term weight to be between 9-10lbs
At a doppler scan (because of comlications) done on my due date they said she was measuring at 35 weeks and would be born weighing 5lb15oz.
My labour was induced that day and my daughter was born 36hrs later weighing 6lb10oz

no, dont believe them

the night i was in labour the midwife said i was having a 7lb baby a load of rubbish my baby was 8lb 12 and a 1/2.

some 7lb that was lol

No they weren't right. My doctor predicted a 7 pound baby. My daughter was 5 pounds 14 ounces. They also predicted she would be born in 2 weeks. She was born at 5:15 am the next day.

my midwife said both my kids would b either side of average!!! lol, bit of a cop out......1 was 6lbs15 and the other was 8lbs 4

There is no real way to tell how big a baby will be, what your midwife has however done is given an approximate weight of an "average" sized baby, so chances are she might be right. My daughter was 9lb 3oz no one even suggested that she would be big, however after she was born my student midwife said that she thought she was on the large size, lol.

7-8lb would be a good size, good luck, hope it all goes well.

no they were wrong with me, I had a really large bump, after a good feel of my belly, they told me it was all baby and to expect my baby to be quite big, he was also just over 1 week late, but still only weighed 7lbs

Nope my doctor predicted 7lbs, 8 at most. The nurses in the hospital were all predicting he was going to be 6 lbs...My son was 9 lbs 2oz!!!!! lol They are never usually right when it comes to the weight.

I think i had my last ultrasound around 8 months and some, and the doc said my baby was 7 lbs 4 oz, when he was born 8 lbs 8 oz. Your only 29 weeks so i don't really see how they could predict already how big your baby is going to be, but 7-8 lbs is the average
