What are some famous people who had to over come something tough to get where

they are? I have to do a research paper on someone who over came something touch like cancer or had sometype of tragic situation to get through. Some examples from class were Nelson mandela, Martin luther King JR, Lance armstrong, Oprah. But not some one that had to work hard (like Carrie Underwood) to get where they are.

I want to do someone famous but someone that isnt to obvious! Any ideas!?
