What are some good sites/resources for finding statistics about movies?

I'm doing a public speech about making a movie. What I need are statistics on how much movies make $ wise and which generes produce the most profit.

Basically what we have to do is pitch to the class an idea for a movie and they will vote on who has the best idea also a website with how much actors make would be nice too.

I'm thinking about doing a horror movie like paranormal activity or a comedy like clerks both have huge profit margins I believe.
