I have a foreign music cd..it has 110 songs on it...they are all mp3's and all the bit rates are 192 kbps...It doesn't play on my stereo cd player, the player just reads it all as one track and advances the counter of that track silently.

It plays on my computer of course, but I think my stereo is confused about the number of songs, I think the bit rate might be non-standard, maybe the whole cd has too much info on it etc...

Out of curiosity, what are the necessary protocols for a cd player to play the cd?
my cd player does play mp3's, its not very old.

You need a newer CD player that plays CD's in MP3 format. Not all CD players do that. There's nothing wrong with your CD. In fact, every car built by GM and Ford since 2005 will play your CD. I have a country music CD with 180 songs on it, and it plays perfectly in my parents' cars.

Perhaps you know that a DVD player is also an MP3-CD player. Buy a basic DVD player, connect it to your stereo (audio only), and it will play on that just fine.
