what are torrents? better than p2p?

what is the difference between downloading torrents and using something like lime wire? what is the likely hood of me getting a virus, what software or applications should I use in getting started with torrents?
 
torrent is better. you need a torrent program. The risk is what you're downloading might not be what it says it is. so just check the comments of other ppl who have dled it. limeware is ****ty because any P2P gets spam all over your system. No problem like that with torrent.
 
Bitcomet or Utorrent should be good, google them if you want to download. Torrents allow you to download many files at one time, like a season or a tv show or an album of music. You can also down load single files if you want. I've been using torrents for a long time and so far I'm virus free, as long as you have anti-virus I think your good. Oh and also when downloading a torrent I'd check out the comments, if there is a virus it the file, someone probably wrote about it, so that's a good warning not to download thas particular torrent.

yes torrent is WAY better. instead of one file at a time it can be an entire folder. but torrents are only as good as your internet connection. you'll need a broadband connection dsl and better.
