May 28, 2013 #2 A AVDADDY Member Sep 28, 2009 211 0 16 Brand has nothing to do with it. Look for one with a built in tuner. Panasonic is my favorite brand for DVD recorders, but not all all Panasonic models will have tuners, & it isn't the only brand that will have a tuner.
