What cheap performance parts should I use to make my Chevrolet 350 engine faster?...

...Pricing would help.? I have a 1981 Camaro z28 hardtop. It has a 350 engine in it and a 3 speed automatic. I plan on making this car as fast as possible at an affordable price. Oh and anything that would help gas mileage would be nice. So any suggestions please help
 
Either you want HP or mileage cant have both. A SBC can be bumped up fairly cheap, Cam, Heads, Intake and carb makes the world of difference. If your looking for mileage make sure the engine is fine tuned and install a taller gear.
 
Go to a reputable garage and ask the technicians what they would recommend.
Or email General motors and specifically address the issue regarding the Camaro. They may be able to direct you to some parts stores.
