What custom ringtone softwares are compatible with the Samsung Rant?

I want a custom ringtone, but the Sprint ringtone store is highway robbery. $2.50 for a song...for only three months? Really? That's outrageous!

I keep seeing all these softwares claiming 'Make your own ringtones, FREE!' but I want to know if any of these actually work with Sprint. And the Rant.
