I really like my girlfriend and I can see us getting more serious with time easily, but almost the only thing that sometimes bothers me is she likes to talk on the phone almost every night for 1-2hours (average 1hr). I am not a huge fan of being on the phone after conversation has dwindled down to trying to think of what to talk about. It's like why are we on the phone? I'm just not really the kind of person who likes to just be on the phone just to be on the phone, which I believe is pretty typical for most guys and most girls like to be on the phone. The problem is after a half hour to an hour (on average) I started to feel a little annoyed and a big overwhelming feeling of just wanting to be off the phone. I do a decent job of not sounding annoyed, I believe I do at least, but I end up just wanting to be off the phone and calling it a night or I'm also thinking, "do I really need to do this every night this long?" Like today, I was watching tv and a decent movie came on, also I was looking some things up on my computer, then she calls and I realize I better put everything on hold.. so I hit record on the DVR after a few minutes, but when you are used to phone calls lasting typically a few minutes or up to a half an hour then it easily goes an hour and I'm still on the phone with her.. I just start to feel stuck. I think things like "so much for my movie.. or my me time.." We are in our early 30's and this seems more like your typical high school or early 20's kind of thing. Everything else about our relationship is great though. No other complaints. so..
Do I suck it up? Try to think of ways to get off earlier if I feel I'm on too long? Do I just deal with it? What is your opinion or advice? thank you in advance. I must add that right now we live about an hour away from each other and only see each other on the weekends, but we both have busy schedules during the week. Late at night is when she calls me too.. like 10 or 11pm.. which makes it worse in regards to the long phone calls. She says I don't wake up early so I'm okay haha.. jeez. help.
