My teacher didn't have a copy of a retake quiz on the Sequences of Arithmetic and Geometric so he asked me to come up with my own. Could you please tell me if that's ok?
1) Consider the sequence: 120, 128, 136, 144,...
a) Write the explicit formula for the sequence:
The answer is (which I have calculated): a_n = 120 + (n-1)8
b) Find n if a_n = 40:
The answer is: 40 = 120 + (n-1)8
n = -9
c) Find the 100th term:
The answer is: a_100 = 120 + (100 - 1)8
a_100 = 912
2) Consider the sequence: (2/4), (1/4), (1/8), ...
a) Write the explicit formula:
The answer is: (2/4) * (1/2)^n-1
b) Find a_10.
The answer is: a_10 = (2/4) * (1/2)^10-1 = 9.766 * 10^(-4)
So could anybody please check for anything wrong with that quiz I wrote, maybe I have wrote a wrong answer or a question makes no sense, please tell me.
Thank you very much.
What negative? Where have I done a mistake?
Wait, seriously, is it ok that I have negatives????
