What does the ios update do on your ipod touch?

I'm pretty sure the 3rd gen should be able to multitask. All you have to do is hit the home button twice while in an app. Also, you should be able to set a background as your home screen and make folders. Check out apple's website... http://www.apple.com/iphone/ios4/ ... it isn't completely clear. I do know, however, that iPhone 4 and 3GS are the only phones that get all of the capabilites, so maybe your iPod won't :( I'm sorry! Check out my website too! :D

I have a 3rd gen ipod touch and just got the ios 4 update....what did it do? My grandpa has it but on iphone and he gets a backround where the apps are but i don't is it because he has iphone 4?? Help please.
my grandpa's iphone 4 also has when you double click a bar comes up that shows apps music controll internet ect. is that also because he has a iphone 4 or the ios update?? Thanks
