What file does a video project have to be in order to burn it to a DVD?

I recently completed a video project in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro Pack 9.
What now?
I want to get it onto a DVD. (I have DVD-R discs)
How do I do this?
If I have to render the video, what kind of file do I render it to? (There are a lot of options in the drop-down menu).
