I've taken up fly fishing in the VA-WV-PA-NY area (but insights to other areas would also be of interest to me). I'm looking to buy a new car as my old is about to die, I was debating whether to buy a 4 wheel drive SUV or not. Are a lot of fishing locations located in places which are only accessible by off road vehicles? Or the worst that it gets is just a gravel road which a sedan and a crossover can tackle?
I like off road vehicles so I'm looking for a reason to buy one, but I mean, if I never get a chance to take it off road. What's the point right?
What do you guys drive and what makes it a great fishing car? I had been using my sedan earlier and I'd have to disassemble the rod every time I drove to a new stretch of the river, which was kind of annoying.
Any advice/comments would be appreciated!
Thanks!
