My younger brother wants an 'off road bike' for his 18th but I dont know nothing about them. Im assuming he means mini motorbike. What is a good 'spec' as I have no idea what im looking for.

Considering he is 18 i would expect he would want a Motocross style bike. If it is a first bike a 125cc is probably better, but a 250cc could also work. These would be Two strokes. Modern Race bikes have are 250cc or 450cc Four stroke motorcycles, however if the bike will be for recreational riding(or it could still be used for racing) the Two stroke is probably the best option. There are basically Five Major brands in the U.S. currently however there are more:Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and KTM (My personal favorite) Your best bet is to find out more information about it from your Brother about what size he wants. Then go to your local dealer and get more professional advice.

If you are talking about what I call a dirt bike then I would have to say any Honda. I have a honda and my friends have others and thay stay broke down to much for me.. Dont get me wrong there are also other good ones but in the long run HONDA.. It may cost a little more but you will see. I would say a 125 because you get something to small then you sell that one to get another and so on. So Buy the 125 .. You can get hurt on both the same way.. Call your local Honda... Good luck..
