My friend has had trouble with her computer when she switches it on the dvd player ejects itself. perfectly healthy computer

stuck in the eject mode,go to device manager right click the dvd driver
uninstall the driver ,shutdown ,open the computer take out the dvd drive
put it back in restart, let windows reinstall the drivers for you if that don't work get another dvd drive have a computer friend help her out

Could be a problem with the DVD drive and may need replacing. Take it to a PC technician

The computer might be healthy but the drive is obviously not!

99 times out of a 100 either the reject button on the front has got jammed in or the circuitry inside has gone into a loop.

Depending on it's age and it's usage they are really not worth mucking about with. It's quicker and easier just to replace them.

If you both have a mutal friend who knows about computers ask him to give you a hand to change it. It's no more than a 15/20 minute job.
