Please help! I really need DVD optical drive for my Netbook, and all of the DVD drives are discontinued from LG and all that is left are DVD rewriters. Thanks
it is my understanding (though i could be wrong) that a DVD driver will only read a disk, a CDRW/DVDROM drive will write to CD's but only read DVDs, a DVDR drive will Write to blank DVDs (a 1 time process) and DVDRW drives will write to ReWritable disks in a similar way to using a hard drive, using a program like InCD.
As for your discontinued netbook, try doing a search on EBAY, there are often old system pulls for sale.
