laptop? The light on the front of my laptop stays orange when it should be blue in the on position. I cannot get a signal when it stays orange. What is this part called and what do you suggest I do now?
it is in the on position.
 
Its called a wireless Network Interface Card. which is most of the time built into the motherboard on laptops. I would go through the software and try to connect to a wireless router. This would allow internet access to the laptop.
 
the wireless card inside your computer is off. sometimes there is a switch on the outside and you may have hit it by accident, my wife does that all the time.
 
wireless card..in your laptop box usually's writen wifi 802.11 b/g.

there're 2 condition for ur case :
1. the signal when u tried to connect is too low, so ur wifi card can't get it
2. there must be a problem with ur hardware ( setting, etc ).

better u try with no.1 case. u can try another hotspot area, n try using ur wifi in the clear area
