I have a 2003 Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor (coupe, not sedan). I want to buy a bike rack that works with my car (I'd be happy with a bike rack that could hold 2) but I can't find one. I purchased one at Wal-Mart last week http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3918 and when I tried to install it it wouldn't work. The C230's hatch-back window provides no real space for hooks to be placed, and the manual advised against placing hooks against a window and not metal. Is there another bike rack that works with this model car that you know of? Preferably one that doesn't rely on bungie cords and hooks, but rather leverage via a trunk hookup? Thanks in advance.
