what kind of sport bike is good after a year of riding a 250?

ive had a ninja 250r for about a year now. and i think its time i move up the ladder. should i get a 600? ive never been on one but it seems like a pretty big jump.
 
any 600. if you lack the confidence for that and want to go bigger then a 250 you can get a ninja 500
 
Earlier there was the 400cc Honda Hawk twin. It was a good all rounder. If you are happy with the little Ninja, why move?
