what name software most easily converts 8hmm videocamcorder tapes to DVD?

I have the Pinnacle which does not work consistently and is way too complicated from what I want it to do..mostly just convert my fifty tapes from my camcorder to DVD. any thoughts? I have researched the Roxio type a bit.
I have a Sony camcorder from about 2001. I made a DVD from one of the tapes and it turned out fine. Now the instant DVD recorder part of the Pinnacle program will not work...have re-installed it (that part) and it gets me to a certain point and that wont go farther. So I know what I have works on my computer..Dell XP but I dont like the program and want something more simple with less bells and whistle and that is consistent.

There is no software that will do the job, I assume as you are using pinnacle (probably analogue to digital converter) that is the only way to get the video from your camera to the computer IT HAS TO BE CONVERTED, a computer will not understand the signal.

As you do not give the make and model of your camera its a bit of a guess to know if you have a digital camera or not.

maybe you can edit this question adding the make and exact model of your camera or mail me

Sony camcorder! ok there should be some letters and numbers on the case let us Know what they are.

There are plenty of free editing packages you already have Windows movie maker, you could try

some from here
