I and a partner are using a bike apparatus for our project that we plan to pedal to create electrical current. The system is all in place, and includes an AC/DC converter and wired circuitry that is all hooked up to a run of the mill pedal bike, with back tire removed and replace with a belt that turns the alternator.
We toyed with the idea of lighting light bulbs, but are looking perhaps for something a little more ambitious. Based on this description, and that it was the capability to produce usable current and light one or more light bulbs, could you suggest to us what other electrical devices we might be able to light? (Hopefully something that requires little energy use, and is efficient; we have a cut-off regulator installed.)
