What size Trek 820 Mountain bike should I buy? (16 or 18inch) I am 5-8 with

a 30 inseam? I am putting road tires on this bike, As I plan on riding on pavement and bike paths exclusively...I figured a 16 is better for control + stability (As in off road riding)...While a 18 inch would be a little better for the path...I plan on only road riding, So I think I should go for a 18.....Any advices ????

You you want it for road and path I would go with the Trek 7100 instead. I would try them both out and see which one you like the most. The 7100 comes in a 17.5 inch frame.
