I have a 38ft gooseneck trailer. Holds 6 horses. I figure fully loaded, it could be upto 22,000 pounds combined weight..trailer, horses and extras.
I currently haul with a '79 Chevy 454, 1 ton dually. It's great on the flat fully loaded. But won't chance it on steep grades.
I was thinking of getting a diesel, cummins, 3500, manual trans, quad cab, dually. But now wonder if that will be enough?
With those options, what size truck do I need to pull it safely up/down steep grades?
Also, what makes, models, years are the best for mileage and dependable?
