Jesus was sent to earth to alter some of the teachings in the Old Testament to conform with His own religion which we now call Christianity.The best example is the pro-war Old Testament teaching to take an eye for an eye that Jesus has now changed into the anti-war teaching of:

It was Judaism, and yeah the Old Testament is the Torah. That's why Jesus was eventually killed; the Torah promised that the Savior would come and they believed that Jesus was a fraud.
