What would be a good manga series to get as a present?

I was thinking to buy some manga for my girlfriend for Christmas. Any series recommendations? Any ideas where to get part of the series? or maybe online link?
 
First question, does she like manga?
Second question, what kind does she like? Shonen, shoujo, horror, action, ?

if she like comedy you could buy her a book called 'when will jesus bring the porkchops' it really hilarious

i recommend some thing like fmp (full metal panic) its hillarius and awsm
 
I really liked the series called "Switch". It's about 2 undercover narcotic police. The art is great and it has a good story. You can buy it at any bookstore.
 
"the tarot cafe" or the "count cain" series (prequel to Godchild). She'll especially like the second one as its got lots of hot male characters in it. TTC is only 7 volumes whereas CC is 5, so it wont get you too out of pocket
