What would happen if I left my cell phone at home during a Christmas vacation trip?

Suppose I take a trip to Florida for Christmas break with my family, and leave my cell phone at home, and powered off. Will my friends or girlfriend get mad when I return? Or will they not really care? I don't want anyone to bother me while I'm on vacation.
I'm a senior in high school.

I think a vacation form technology is a great thing. It helps focus your mind on what really matters to you. Friends are usually too caught up in their own live to be overly worried if they cannot reach you - they will simply ask when you return
