I'm thinking about getting a 3Ds for Christmas.
I've looked it up and with some games it seems like the quality is reduced when played original Ds games, personally I will mainly be playing Pokemon games, Animal Crossing and obviously a few Mario games and random other games.
I was wondering if the quality will be reduced on Pokemon games as well, and if the 3Ds or 3Ds XL would be better when it comes to playing old ds games in terms of quality.
I know not all games have this effect on the 3Ds but I just want to know more about it.

And is it possible to somehow play new games on the original Ds?
For example if a new Pokemon game is released, are they only making it for 3Ds or do they release it for both consoles?
If not, is it possible that they do release games for the old Ds in the future? Because surely lots of people won't have money for getting a new Ds every time another is released and so many people will be unable to get any new games on their Ds which will be pretty bad D:
