This part on the optical DVD +/- RW drive in my Acer Aspire 5315 broke today and I want a replacement part, rather than replacing the whole drive. Anyone know what it is called or where I can get a replacement in the UK?
Rod, that isn't the part I mean, it's the actual black circular part that you clip the discs to when you open the DVD drive. I think it is correctly called the spindle. I'll have to see what Acer say about getting a spare part. Anyone know if it easy to change a drive?

It is the optical disc drive spindle and only replaceable as part of a new CD/DVD disc drive.
You can check with the manufacturer support for the lap top or any local computer repair center that carries computer components/parts.
