whats the difference between a civilian and a police 2000 chevy impala?

im looking into purchasing a 2000 chevy impala that was once a police interceptor, im looking also into buying a 2001 chevy impala but just your basic... im just wondering what the spec differences are engine, shocks, etc.... andy big problems also may be nice to note
