When is the best day to go to carnival cruise?

We are thinking of going to the carnival cruise to Mexico Riviera and want to know when its a good time. I mean we were thinking of going October (next month) but we think the weather might be bad so we were thinking April. People told us that its always hot since Mexico Riviera is in a tropical climate area but we are thinking to go on a sunny day as well so it wont be a bad weather. It said that in October it will be hot but cloudy and chances of hurricane/rain.
