Where can I find a good gym in Los Angeles (not Ballys or LA fitness)?

I am looking for a gym, not a big chain gym like Ballys or LA fitness, but moreso a smaller independent gym.
I'm looking for them in the Inglewood/LAX/Hawthorne area.
Preferably a membership that costs less than $35/mo.
I don't like the chain gyms simply because they are way too crowded for the prices they charge.
 
my gym was 300 dollars for 4 years. its a private womens gym....but its in Upland, too far from where you are ^_^ its called "the Spa" if youre interested though.
