Where can I recycle DVD players in Bay Area?

I have 3 dvd players that are not working. I want to know where I can drop them off for recycling without paying a fee. I have learned from the public media that I should not dump them to the trash since they contain hazardous parts that are not suitable for the landfill.

But it is hard to find information on how to recycle unwanted and non-working items properly.
