okay the basic sport bikes i know of are the ninja. gsxr600, and the R6 (which i personally like). I am new to the whole bike thing, but i wanna get one and i learn very easily. I was talking to one of my friends who has been riding for years, and he said to start with a 600. anything less i will get bored with within a year, and anything more could be to powerful/costly. So i wanna know which bike would be best to get? I DO want to race it (illigally, :( im dumb ) , but i also wanna drive around town and dont want something uncomfertable.. im also 17, so please do not mention any $15k bike (hyboosa) . I would perfer to get the bike for around $5-7 USED.

Thank you and sorry i made it so picky :(

I've owned so many different 600's, 750's, 1000's, & 1100's. And my favorite bike back in the old days was the FZ600. Very easy to handle, plenty fast, good first bike. But now I'm strickly Suzuki. Ive raced them, blown them up, you name it. Watch some drag racing on TV. Nothing beats Suzuki except for a Harley some times

You're not picky, but you may not like my answer... if it's your first bike and you're dead set on getting a sportbike, I would recommend a Kawasaki Ninja 250. It's plenty fast, plenty maneuverable... you can pick one up cheap, and when you drop it, it won't be the end of the world.
Get that ride it for a few months, maybe a year and then go for a 600.

Since you're probably not going to take my advice about the 250, I'd recommend a GSXR-600. The Suzuki's are great bikes, and they're relatively easy to work on.
