WRONG some 35 years ago certain ones implied and contributed to the buildup of hopes centered on the date of 1975. There were statements made then, and thereafter, stressing that this was only a possibility, however along with the CAUTIONARY information, there were other statements made that
implied that such realization of hopes by that year was more of a probability than a mere possibility. Thus we see that these latter statements apparently OVERSHADOWED the CAUTIONARY ones and
contributed to a buildup of the expectation already initiated. Bible chronology definitely marks the time in which we live as being of great importance. 2 Ti 3:1-5. Yet nobody should get the idea that, simply by chronology he can make calculations as to the time of Christ coming for executing judgment. This is shown in Christ words at Matt 24:36+Mark 13:32. Jehovah's people realize that Jesus when he was on earth he did not know the day and the hour of his execution of judgment on this world, prior to when his thousand year reign begins. So how then could any human today possibly figure it out? Not knowing the day constitutes a test-the purpose of leaving Christians uncertain as to the precise time is to require all who claim to be Christ's disciples to prove whether they are genuine Christians ALL THE TIME. They can't become careless and involved with worldly pursuits and practices and then, just before the last minute, put on a form of godliness. Now you can't deceive Jehovah or Jesus, but God wants it plain to all people that there is a clear distinction between those who really serve God and those who don't. Mal 3:18. They prove by their fruits what they are at heart. Matt 7:17-20. We JWs want to keep looking forward with Jehovah, and also want to keep moving forward with him, as he has much work for his servants on earth to do-Preaching the good news of God's Kingdom. Matt 24:14.

It's bad that instead of your diatribe, just say the usual and common excuse..subject to the coming of new lights .

What events in our time were foretold in the Bible?

What does God’s Word say people would be like “in the last days”?

Regarding “the last days,” what good things does the Bible foretell?

HAVE you watched the news on television and wondered, ‘What is this world coming to?’ Tragic things happen so suddenly and unexpectedly that no human can predict what tomorrow will bring. (James 4:14) However, Jehovah knows what the future holds. (Isaiah 46:10) Long ago his Word, the Bible, foretold not only the bad things happening in our day but also the wonderful things that will occur in the near future.
