Why are Christians thought to be good people by the general public in the US?

Just a thought. Why do people think that once you become a Christian you are a better person and why does the general public in the US tend to trust Christians more than any other religion? Also why is it that when you donate to the poor or help someone many people automatically assume you must be a Christian?

It is impossible to accept the teachings of Jesus without seeing a dramatic improvement in your moral behavior. The problem comes when new Christians then start to practice Churchanity and follow the militaristic teachings of hate, retaliation and mass murder that some ministers teach.:hammer punch:

Not sure. We are a collection of sinners. I guess it is because we acknowledge our sin and make an effort to remedy it while others wallow in theirs and attempt to blame someone else for their shortcomings. Proverbs 10:28 God Bless

Not necessarily. Those who think that are usually the born again Christians everyone else judge your actions as a person not as a religion. I have never assumed that either. I am a pagan and I just presume you are a good person, not necessarily a Christian.

They tend to have a higher objective morality, because the faith in Jesus Christ is when you ask for forgivness of sin and repent from sin

I think that evangelical Christians are the only ones who think that. Everyone else is smart enough to realize that every culture and religion has mostly nice and charitable people.
