Why are libs suing taco bell? Did they really expect their beef to be 100% beef?

I don't know about you, but I tend to enjoy actually getting what I pay for, as I assume these people do as well.

A US court has already ruled that Fox has the right to lie. Maybe Taco Bell will take advantage of that.

They just want money. Anyone who actually thinks taco bell or any fast food place uses 100% beef is easily fooled

If Taco Bell advertises that they sell "beef" that actually isn't beef then they should be sued.

You owe the consumers the truth about what your products contain.

Yes, only liberals think that it's wrong for companies to violate labeling and advertising laws. To cons, lying about their products must be "business as usual". Wouldn't want to stifle free enterprise by making them tell the truth!

BTW, where exactly did they put the political views of the plaintiffs in that article? Wouldn't it be weird if they were actually law'n'order conservatives?

By FDA regulation a product can be called "beef" as long as it contains 40% actual beef. Taco Bells "beef" hit at the 30% mark.
I personally don't eat there or at many fast food places at all.
They will have to revise their advertising.
At least we know where the Taco Bell dog went...

"The firm contends that that Taco Bell shouldn't market the taco meat filling in question as beef because their testing shows that it only contains 36 percent ground beef. If that's true, Taco Bell's meat filling product would fall below the already generous USDA standard for it to qualify as meat -- the present standard demands it consist of at least 40 percent meat. This inspired Gizmodo's Jesus Diaz to crack, "Perhaps they should call it 'Almost Taco Meat Filling.'"

READ.

Because the Ingredients don't Include beef

The USDA defines meat as something that consists of at least 40 percent of actual meat (flesh of animals), but Taco Bell’s “beef” is at the 36 percent mark, according to reports, and that has people screaming: “Where’s the beef?” It also has the customers wondering just what they’ve been eating all of these years. Thankfully, nobody has screamed “Soylent Green is made out of people” yet.

“Rather than beef, these food items are actually made with a substance known as ‘taco meat filling,’ ” the lawsuit says.

With 36% actual beet, the remainder of the Taco Bell’s meat filling product consists of “extenders” like water, “Isolated Oat Product,” wheat oats, maltodrextrin, soy lecithin, maltodrextrin, anti-dusting agent, autolyzed yeast extract, modified corn starch, sodium phosphate and silicon dioxide. Still hungry?

All these years Taco Bell has had the reputation of presenting less than great food to the people and now the plot thickens and this may force the eatery to raise the standards and actually present meat instead of some strange mix, heavily flavored with taco seasoning to give the appearance of real beef.

Looks disgusting
