I swear every science fiction/horror movie I watch these days always lacks in action, instead of being horrified by the killer or monster, aliens, zombies whatever the hell the movie is about, you have to sit there and watch the character drama instead.
For example I just watched that European movie "Monsters" that just came out, through the entire course of the movie the two main characters got attacked ONCE and that was it. The rest of the story was about them falling in love.
Skyline, a movie about an alien invasion on earth, should be action-packed right? nope, once again we saw like three 2 minute action scenes and the rest was about the group arguing amongst themselves.
War of the Worlds (2005) a movie about aliens invading the earth, we see like maybe 2 or 3 battles against the aliens and the rest is about Tom Cruise trying to get his family together and be a good father for his daughter and teenage son. What the HELL does that have to do with aliens invading earth?!?
Whats up with science fiction horror movies these days? if I wanted to see a family drama or a love story I'd see a romance or drama movie. They're called HORROR or SCIENCE FICTION for a reason, why must directors and writors put that human drama crap in these movies??
